Blogging is a way that many people like to express their emotions. Blogging is also a way many people use to keep updated on the latest trends and on the latest gossip. Because blogs can be created so quickly, it is sometimes hard to get lots of readers to follow you. But it can be done! If you want to get your blog noticed by readers, and have them subscribe to your posts, here are some ideas to help you get traffic to your blog.
1. Get guest bloggers or be a guest blogger somewhere else. If you have a good friend that has a popular blog, or a blog that you like, consider offering up a guest post. This is a good idea to present your work to a new crowd. This can help out the other blogger if they are busy and can’t post that day. If you write something really interesting, people will want to follow you and read your blog. Remember that this is a two-way street. Allow other bloggers to guest post on your blog. This will build up a network of bloggers, which is good for everyone.
2. Join forums. If you want to get your blog some free promoting, make sure that you join online forums, social networking sites, and others where you can find potential readers. If you comment on a forum, make sure that you include the link to your blog. If you have a good comment, people want to follow your link and find out more about you.
3. Make sure that you promote outside of your blog. After you log off, it doesn’t mean that promoting your blog can stop. You can talk about your blog to your friends, your family, anyone that you come into contact with. It does depend on the type of blog that you have, but you can bring it up in just about every conversation. If you write about cool topics (or your life) you can pique people’s interest and they will want to read your blog.
4. Nominate yourself (and other blogs) for blog awards. There are tons of awards that you can nominate yourself (and other blogs) for. You will be able to ask your readers to help you for your awards. This will help you promote your blog. If you nominate other bloggers, you will increase your chances of other bloggers helping you get readers.
5. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or contribute. You might feel a little silly commenting on blogs or offering suggestions to people that you have never met, but that doesn’t matter. The more you comment, the more that you will be able to increase your blog traffic and network of bloggers.
