Traditional Hiring Methods Are Fazing Out

Traditionally, a recruiter’s options have been newspaper ads, purchasing database from external sources, or asking hiring professionals to headhunt appropriate candidates. Social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc have given these recruiters an easy platform to use all of the above methods at one place and that too at a very little, and at times at almost no cost. It’s only a matter of time before the traditional methods of recruiting would be a thing of the past.

Facebook Recruiting Tools

Having briefly established the viability of recruiting through social media websites, let us see how Facebook and its tools and applications can be used to recruit right person for the right job.

Facebook Directory: Just like our phone directory, Facebook directory alphabetically and numerically lists Facebook users, places, pages, groups and applications. All a recruiter has to do is narrow in on the required source with a few clicks. It’s absolutely free but does take a lot of time in reaching where you want to.

Facebook Marketplace: Another free interface but one which gives recruiter much better reach compared to the Facebook directory option. It allows recruiter to post a Job-Ad for free mentioning the job category, qualifying criteria, Job location etc. A job seeker who is also a Facebook user can also post his/her ad in this space, stating the kind of job he/she is aiming for and what attributes qualify him/her. Only drawback is, this Facebook resource does not pin-point the Ad to the visibility of desired group on its own.

Facebook Page: Facebook page is simply a public profile of a business on Facebook. By creating a very interactive Facebook page, a business can not only showcase and promote their products for average users but it also provides job-seeking Facebook users to look for recruiting information on the page. A recruiter can easily list job openings here and provide the qualifying criteria and invite job applications.

Facebook Ad: This is a Payable tool but highly effective as it reaches to the precise target group of professionals that the recruiter may be interested in. The Ad posting system is designed in such a manner that at each step it keeps extracting job qualifying criteria of the candidates from the recruiter and this keeps narrowing down the target group of prospective employees. For example, it may isolate users on the basis of educational qualifications, experience, seniority level, age, location, etc, till the time the ad becomes laser sharp in targeting just the right group of professionals. Facebook may charge these ads on the basis of number of clicks on the job ad or on the basis of the number of potential users who actually saw the ad.

Pre-hiring Verification Using Facebook

Job of recruiter does not end with zeroing in on few appropriate candidates. The very social media which recruiters may use to “hunt” you down, might in the next recruiting step prove to be your nemesis as recruiters are now using social media profiles to unearth information about candidate’s professional and personal demeanors as well as past history using their profiles. This is what recruiters are looking for:

Authenticity: Matching the candidate’s CV with the information posted on profiles like that in Facebook, is the first thing that recruiters may look to verify genuineness of CV. Any disparity may cause alarm.

Bad habits: Whether a person is an alcoholic, a heavy smoker, a party animal, a womanizer or a reckless driver etc.

Communication skills: Though Facebook is not exactly a podium to showcase one’s literary skills but still, a brief gaze upon a candidate’s profile can proclaim his or her communications skills level to a great extent to a recruiter.

Annoying/Negative posts and status updates: Leaving a digital troll of angry or pessimistic status updates or abuses are a certain rejection criteria that a candidate may bring upon himself/herself.

Views for past employers: Posting derogatory comments about past employers or organizations exposes candidate’s lack of good professional conduct and loyalty towards ex-employers.

Views for colleagues: Comments about present or past colleagues which are in poorer taste can establish the candidate’s inability to get along with a team and thus cause friction and inefficiency.

Racist or sexist: Facebook posts by a candidate can even indicate towards his/her being racist or sexist which in this era of globalization and gender-equality can pose a threat to work environment of a business.

Positive Hiring Information on Facebook

Considering that hiring through social media is going to be the way recruitments will be made in future, it is only advisable for professionals to keep their social media profiles like Facebook clean and devoid of any negative attributes which have been mentioned above.

It should appear highly professional, well organized, devoid of any false information particularly one that contradicts candidate’s CV or apparent personality. Profanities and obscenities should be totally avoided and as far as possible, proper usage of language with grammatical consistency ought to be exhibited. Biases of all kinds, be it sexist, racist, color or creed should not be screaming through your profile content.

It’s almost impossible to succeed in the realm of online marketing without having a substantial number of links pointing to your website. All of the major search engines view links as offering pointers on the profile and importance of your site.

This is something that annoys many people. After all, isn’t it enough to have a great website that offers lots of wonderful content? Unfortunately, you need to take extra steps to ensure that your site gets spotted.

Attracting links

The first thing to say here is that link building applies an active approach. It suggests that you need to get out there and to contact other website owners. It’s worth noting, however, that this isn’t always the case.

If you do truly have lots of great, original content, then there’s a chance that it may be picked up by other web users. Via social media, they may look to tell friends, family members and acquaintances about what you have to offer. It should be said, however, that this is not the normal way that most links are built.

You can certainly aid this passive approach to link building by making use of social media yourself. As an example, you might look to ensure that you Tweet to let followers know about the presence of each new article. If you’re using a standard blogging platform (such as WordPress), then you’ll find that the search engines are automatically notified when you make new content available.

An active approach to SEO

The chances are that you will need to think about reaching out to other webmasters. In many cases, you’ll need to offer something in return for the link that you desire. Since the main search engines frown on the idea of you paying for links, it makes a lot more sense to take a creative approach.

Guest blogging can be a wonderful way of raising your own profile, as well as that of your website. Try to get in touch with real industry leaders and those who have a significant following. Although it’s tempting to think in terms of search engine positioning, it’s also worth remembering that these blog posts may actually lead to increased visitor numbers and leads. In other words, they have clear value in their own right.

Taking the easy route

You may feel that this all sounds like rather hard work. Wouldn’t it be easier to make a few blog comments and maybe to include a link to your website when posting in various forums? In general terms, there can be no doubt that such tactics do represent an easier approach. But are they more likely to be successful?

The problem here is that they tend to result in rather low-quality links. In some senses, it can be seen that those links are easily replicated by your competitors. Another issue here is that they hold very little value, as far as the search engines are concerned.

If you want to build a real search engine presence, then you’ll need to concentrate on attracting high quality links.

Keith Barrett works for an SEO company Hampshire and assists with the provision of a variety of services. He sees link building as a fundamental part of most SEO projects.

What determines the success of a blog? One might say, the most important factor is the amount of traffic or visitors the blog attracts. Yes, traffic is an important factor and it’s the easiest to measure but traffic should definitely not be your only success metric. Traffic means you’ve succeeded in getting attention and awareness but that’s only the first step. Don’t forget that blogs are social mediums. If you look at the most successful blogs, you will find a number of shared characteristics. One that stands out is their ability to create a community for like-minded people.

Successful blogs, the ones that have sustained success, not only attract a lot of new visitors, they ensure that their existing readership remains engaged and comes back for more. When readers feel like they belong to a community, they become loyal followers.

How to build a community?

Communities are built through conversation. Conversation happens in your and other blog’s comments section. Comments are what distinguish a blog from most other websites. They facilitate a conversation between readers and authors. As a blogger, you need to embrace comments and ensure that your content stimulates conversation.

Why is conversation important?

Comments are what transform a passive audience into an active community. Through comments, you will get to know and understand the people reading your blog. Good or bad, you will learn what makes your audience tick and therefore, what content will be of value to them.

Do’s and Don’t’s

Whatever you do, don’t ignore anyone’s comments, even if they are negative. Get involved in your audience’s conversation by responding to the comments on your blog. Even if it’s just to say, thank you for posting. This way your readers know you are interested and involved. It will give you the opportunity to show that you have an understanding of the material in the original post and an opportunity to encourage other readers to participate. It’s also a valuable opportunity to post additional content your readers might find useful.

Always treat others respectfully. You can disagree, but don’t attack. Be open and honest. The more open you are about relevant issues, the more you will earn their trust and respect.

Receiving a new comment is like making a new friend, another prospective member of your community. Embrace new comments with enthusiasm and remember that readers who comment are more likely to return if you respond.

Don’t ignore your comment section styling?

Once you appreciate the importance of comments on your blog, you’ll appreciate the importance of styling this section in such as way that is appealing for users. Your comments section should be easy-to-follow and encourage interaction. If comments are not styled well, they can be difficult to read and follow.

Many bloggers use comment widget systems which disrupt the overall design on their blog. A simple solution, and one that allows you to address the commenter directly in your follow-up comment, is to use the comment ID number to address and link to the original comment. This is supported in all the major blogging platforms, like WordPress and Blogger. This is a simple, yet reader-friendly, way to align the conversation. Style your comment ID links differently to regular links, to make your comment section even more audience friendly.

If you are a forward thinking business with a website or a blog, you have probably already thought of hiring an SEO copywriter. You know that these professional SEO experts have the right experience and techniques to improve the ranking of your website and get you more traffic, which will translate into more business for you.

However, many people will hire SEO experts with a misconception about what it is that they do. They might be expecting things from their SEO copywriter which are not actually in their job description. This can be an issue because in this type of misunderstanding, the SEO copywriter can be doing their job just fine but the client will still be unhappy because they had incorrect expectations.

Before you hire a professional SEO copywriter, here are some things that you should not expect them to be able to do:

Increase Sales

Just because your website is optimized for search engines doesn’t automatically guarantee that you will see an increase in sales. It only means that you will see an increase in traffic to your website, which means more people see your products and services. This has a very likely probability to result in more sales for you, but this depends on whether your product is enticing, well priced and good quality. If you have a good product that people will want to buy, SEO will not sell it for you but it will bring more people to your “online shop” so that they can have the chance to buy it.

Immediate Results

If you expect that your website will see a huge peak in traffic immediately after your SEO copywriter works on it, don’t get your hopes up. A new website will usually take several months before it makes it way up to the 1st page of search results on Google. You will need to continue to create relevant and interesting content, update the blog frequently and participate in social media to keep your website climbing up those rankings. Have patience, SEO does not have a one-time overnight “magic” effect.

Guaranteed Rankings

No matter how good they are, no SEO copywriter can give you a guaranteed ranking for a specific keyword. They will do the best that they possibly can to make sure your website has a good chance of ranking high for that keyword, but Google is in control of the rest. Also, when you do get a high ranking don’t expect it to stay the same forever, as Google will always be altering its algorithms so that it favours other criteria.

Complete Website Services

When you hire an SEO copywriter, don’t assume that they are also able to design and programme your website for you, create images and do other web design and programming tasks. SEO copywriting is a speciality in itself. Your SEO copywriter might very likely have these other skills, but they also might have only focused on the SEO aspect of the business and not be very experienced in programming, graphics or web design. Feel free to ask them, but you might need to hire a couple of different people to build a complete website.

Now that you know what not to expect from your SEO copywriter, you will be prepared against possible disappointment which might have resulted from being misinformed and you can appreciate what your SEO copywriter does do, which is optimize your website for the best rankings possible.

When you hire an experts supplying copywritin services, make sure that you know exactly what they will do and not do, so you are not confused or disappointed. AppleCopywriting.com

Traditional marketing has seen better days and everyone knows that this mode of promoting goods and services is at the brink of extinction. So what happens now to individuals who have relied on this marketing platform especially service providers like dentists? It’s time to adapt and practice new methods.

According to marketing experts, traditional marketing will most likely be replaced by platforms which allow service providers, i.e. dentists, to have light interactions with their prospects and patients within a stretched period of time. This method of marketing relies basically on dentists forming relationships with their prospects rather than abruptly getting their attention by using aggressive techniques which are exclusively used in traditional methods. This puts another P in the marketing elements which include Product, Price, Place and Promotion. Now, dentists have to worry about “Participation” as well.

Forming Relationships

This marketing platform is very similar to how individuals forge friendships within a course of time. We do not right away hit it off with an acquaintance. Rather, what happens are a series of getting to know each other where both parties discover common interests. Building relationships with prospects should be the same way. Interactions shouldn’t be forced but should develop naturally.

squidoo elliot

The Role of Websites

It can be quite difficult to have natural and frequent interactions with prospects especially since dentists do not allot a huge amount of their time each day to talking with random people. This is where websites come in. The World Wide Web is becoming a melting pot of people – a huge marketplace of sellers and buyers. But unlike in the past, websites have become more flexible and dynamic so that they can be personalized to fit the preferences of every visitor.

Personalizing Dental Websites

You can say that you have successfully personalized your dental website when visitors find your content helpful. The reason for why some visitors navigate away from a certain site as fast as they got there is because they do not find value in the website’s content simply because they do not find it relevant or helpful.

One of the many ways to make sure that your website remains effective is to think about the many dental problems that average reasonable people have to deal with, and then give solutions that work. With every tip that makes their life more convenient, you’re interacting and forming relationships with your prospects. When it’s time for them to get a new veneer or have a tooth extraction, you’ll be the first dentist they’ll go for.

When Pinterest was first introduced to internet social media lovers it was a big hit. Currently, Pinterest is still a big hit yet slowly some people are backing away. They are saying that Pinterest is too addictive and in all reality it is a time waster. However, other users who are just getting the word about this social media outlet are “pinning” away and could not imagine going an entire day without “pinning” something.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a social media website that allows users to interact by pinning things that interest them on boards. You can title the boards anything you want and throughout the day you can pin relevant imagines and other things of that nature that catches your eye.

Who Can Use Pinterest?

Anyone who has received the invite can use Pinterest. Businesses use it because they feel that it is a good way for them to promote their products. The average Joe uses it to keep in tune with their dreams and general things that they like. Moms use it to plan weddings, plan Christmas and save their favorite recipes. Everyone can find a good way to use Pinterest that will help make their lives so much easier.

How Does Pinterest Become Addictive?

As with any other social media website, Pinterest becomes addictive when users do not draw the line. Many users find themselves straying away from their work or other important things that they must have accomplished in order to “pin” things that really are not their highest priority. Also, it does not help when users have their notifications set so they can be alerted via email every time someone follows their boards, re-pins something, or something of that nature.

Is Pinterest Too Addictive

When Pinterest is used normally it is not a social media outlet that is too addictive. We all have to remember that at one point in time Facebook was considered to be one of those social media outlets that were “too addictive” right along with Twitter. Currently, those two examples are highly popular means of networking and the people who said it was “too addictive” seem to have lost their addictions. This is basically the same thing that Pinterest is going through right now. However, once the hype is down everything will be okay.

When using social media you just basically have to have boundaries in place. Besides, aren’t addictions just a mind thing anyways?

Titles are headline makers in a way. Titles reflect a persona. They either draw a reader in with the magic of words or repel them with ineffective babble.
Writing titles is easy; getting the audience to read and identify with them is the hard part. To get it right, reams have been dedicated by experts from varied media to ‘hit the nail right on the head.’ And yet readers are still being subjected to headlines that are not only misleading put plain stupid!

Though I am not an ‘expert’ in writing the best headlines or titles (both are different by the way), common sense guides me to write titles for blogs and headlines for articles. Some of the tips I share here:

Tip 1: You guessed it right. Use your common sense. Think like the reader. What would an average reader look for when she/he browses the internet? The title or headline should reflect what is there in the content. And if you can incorporate a relevant keyword within the content, great!

Tip 2: The first tip guides us to number 2. The title should match the content. Imagine a blog post written for health incorporating words like ’5 tips on how to work towards a healthy morning’. What exactly does the title wish to say? Does it offer tips on healthy breakfast or how to opt for a workout/exercise? The title does not reflect ‘exactly what’ they are discussing.

Tip 3: Write a few headlines to identify which would suit the content. By identifying firsthand what you are going to write about, you will be able to pick clues to best describe what you would like to convey.

Tip 4: Some authors prefer writing the titles after the article has been written; nothing wrong with that. Some people are comfortable working backwards. As far as you know what you are going to convey, you can write the title before or after.

Tip 5: Writing titles and headlines is no rocket science. Read good blog posts and articles to find out what is ‘trending’ so that you do not end up with ‘egg on your face’ with outdated terms!

Holding on to the reader’s interest should be the priority of any article or blog. Once you are a pro writing headlines, you can make your own list of ‘do’s and don’ts while writing headlines/titles’!

When you want to attract local attention for your business, local search engine marketing techniques can do a lot of great things for you. Search engine marketing can encompass many areas, such as pay per click advertising, search engine optimisation, social marketing, and more. Here are some tips to help you appeal to people and attract attention on search engines and websites locally:

Google Places

Getting listed as a local business on Google will mean that when people search for the thing you do (whether a product or a service), they could be directed to find your business details. You could get a little clickable red balloon on a map and that could link to information about your website. That information could also include reviews from people who have tried your product or service. Optimising for Google is smart and can be inexpensive, especially when calculating return on investment.

Local Keywords

Optimise your website and your overall online presence for the right words and phrases to make sure that you have as good a chance as possible to rank for those phrases in search engines. Research keywords and add place names to your optimisation efforts. This can work well because many people won’t simply do a search for a phrase like PLUMBERS. Many will search for Essex Plumbers or 24-hr Emergency Plumbing Service in Blackpool, etcetera. By optimising this way, (known as optimisation for the long tail) you optimise for common search phrases that apply to your local area. This increases the chances of being found by people who want your product or service.

Google Adwords Campaigns

You can run a targeted Google Adwords campaign that results in sponsored advertisements on search engines, on popular websites, and on blogs. People in your area who might need what you’re selling could be shown your advertisement and it could win them over.

Social Media Marketing

Consider participating on Facebook and Twitter, optimising your profile for your area and striving to engage local people so that they follow your profile and pay attention to your updates. You could succeed in attracting people that could become paying customers this way. You can also advertise to local audiences on sites such as Facebook. This targeted local advertising method could create great results and bring people to your fan page — enabling you to market to them again and again.

There are local directories you can use, local websites that you can often advertise on, and many other methods of using the web to attract locals who could become customers. The more you delve into local search engine marketing techniques, the more success you’ll have at getting traffic to your site that has a great chance of becoming profitable.

If you have a website, you surely know that SEO has become a very important part of marketing your website. To gain more visitors, and in turn more revenue, your site needs to be as close to the top of search results for certain keywords, and often this is all due to SEO. There are many perspectives on search engine optimization and the best practices for carrying out an SEO campaign. This is, of course, varying depending on the size and type of your organization. One common perspective on SEO for 2012 and beyond is that outsourcing SEO services is vital. These folks see outsourcing certain elements of SEO or entire campaigns as something that is necessary for many. The following are just some reasons why you should start outsourcing SEO in 2012 and continue to do so into the future.

SEO can be difficult and time consuming to learn.

Search engine optimization isn’t just a single thing that one does; it is made up of several elements. If you are completely new to SEO, it can take you or those in your organization a considerable amount of time to get up to speed on what SEO is and how to execute some of the most basic elements of optimization. The time spent learning SEO surely takes you or your employee away from other tasks. Not only will this cost you productivity, you or your existing team member may end up being no good at SEO at the end of it. If you outsource, you can hire a skilled expert that needs no time to train and is good at what he or she does.

Even most SEO experts usually aren’t experts at everything SEO.

There are many elements of SEO. If someone is excellent at link building, they may be a horrible writer. If you outsource, you can carve up your SEO work more easily to give tasks to someone with an even more honed, precise specialty. This will most likely help to save you even more money in the long run, and it will make it so that the SEO done for your site is of an even higher caliber.

Outsourced labor usually costs less than in house labor.

Hiring an employee to do SEO or a particularly time consuming and difficult element of SEO isn’t always the best way to go. Even if they are an SEO expert, you will have to take time to train them about your company since they now work for you. Outsourcing your SEO to freelancers can often be cheaper. Usually these individuals have competitive rates, meaning that if you shop around, you can likely find top notch work for the lowest dollar amount. You also don’t have to provide them with equipment, space or benefits they way you would with a new staff member.

Conclusion

The perspective that SEO is best outsourced in 2012 and into the future applies to many websites. SEO is difficult to learn and very segmented, meaning that it is best to outsource to experts in very specific areas. Additionally, it is far less expensive to outsource than to bring on a brand new employee. While an in-house solutions may be right for some, outsourcing some or all of your SEO work is often the answer.

There is a lot of negative talk about social networking sites for kids. Parents and guardians definitely have the grounds for being concerned. Kids need to use a social networking site that has the highest security settings to make sure that they are safe from inappropriate content online. Although social networking sites have been getting a bad rap lately, there are many benefits for kids and their parents.

Price

First of all, social networking sites are inexpensive and many of them are free. These sites can keep children entertained for hours without costing parents too much. Many of the games that are offered online cost users to play them. On kids social networking sites, kids can play free online games.

Connections

Sometimes it is not possible for a child to socialize with other kids. Social networks are filled with users from all different ages.; Kids can find their friends online or they can meet other children their age from all around the globe. They can chat with friends and learn about each other. By creating profiles, children can update their status and their friends can reply by commenting on their status. This is a great way for children to stay connect if they are home sick or being homeschooled.

Confidence

By connecting with peers online, kids can develop the confidence they need to socialize with other children. Kids are in a safe environment to allow them to talk about video games, sports, activities, and anything else they may be interested in. Parents can find a social networking site for kids that is monitored to protect kids from cyber bullying. Parent can research these sites to determine the safest one for their child.

Online Communities

A huge benefit of social networks is online communities. Online communities form because a group of users with the same interests get together to form a community. Interests like music, hobbies, or cars are some topics that connect users. Kids can also use online communities to get help with homework. Many college departments form their own networks to aid students who are struggling in their classes. Kids can log onto a network and ask a question about their homework and wait for a fellow classmate to respond with help.

Kids Social Networking Sites

Even though there are problems with social networking sites there are many benefits. Parents need to look at the good with the bad when determining if their kids should be allowed to use social networking sites. Each social networking site is different and offers diverse activates for kids. As long as children are on a safe and secure website, kids can explore all that the Internet has to offer.

Kids Social Network is a Facebook site for kids that allows children to learn, play, and connect in a safe environment. This website is constantly monitored to ensure safety for their users.
